This sculpture celebrates St. Francis of Assisi, who was known for his love for all creatures and nature. He's depicted here before a gothic arbor of trees in the company of his animal friends. He loved the larks that soared through the air around his hilltop town, and was inspired to write a Canticle of the Creatures, an ode to God's living things: "All raise to you, Oh Lord, for all these brother and sister creatures." He was constantly surrounded by wildlife and brought peace between animals and the hand of mankind. This saint sculpture would make a beautiful housewarming present, or thoughtful gift for any gardener or animal lover. It is free-standing, but comes with a hook to hang on the wall.

American sculptor George Carruth is the artist behind our small art studio. George's work has been sought after, collected, and now, through Carruth Studio and Garden Smiles, given as gifts by those who appreciate original and whimsical home décor. His wife and biggest fan, Deb, helped turn his stone carving passion into our family-run company. What started out as a way to fuel George's passion has turned into a reality, allowing fans and friends to "plant a smile in their garden."
